I made this video last year, and I have heard from a number of step-moms, aunts-who-function-as-moms, and yes, foster moms, telling me that it was encouraging to them. Mother’s Day can be a really hard day for foster children and the women who care for them—as well as, of course, for women whose children are in foster care. 

If you are a woman who functions as a mom to children who are not “yours,” I hope this video will serve as an encouragement to you for the important, life-giving work you do.
