One of the best practices we have in our family is our weekly Family Meeting.
Every Sunday, we gather in our living room for about an hour and a half. We follow the same agenda each week, with each participant in charge of one or two agenda items.
If we have guests staying with us, they are invited to join us (and so far, they always do). If we are traveling, we have our Family Meeting wherever we happen to be — hotel rooms, grandparents’ houses, wherever.
Everyone in our family, including parents, our children, our foster children, guests — everyone loves Family Meeting. It is a space devoted to building one another up, empowering the children with leadership opportunities, teaching about money management, and family bonding—we laugh a lot at Family Meeting!
